We have a long history of offering home health care, therapy, and hospice services to the Wisconsin communities we serve. With decades of outstanding expertise, our skilled interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, home health aides, social workers, and wellness facilitators work together to make a difference in the lives of our clients and their families when they need it most.
Before Preceptor Health Care there was Mueller Therapy. It was started in 2003 by Barb Mueller, an occupational therapist who provided services in assisted living facilities. The only office at that time was in the basement of her home. She soon brought on a physical therapist to offer her clients a more comprehensive treatment plan, and more occupational and physical therapists soon followed. By 2009 it grew to about 40 employees while expanding therapy services to five counties throughout southeastern Wisconsin.
Due to the demands of the industry and the changing needs of their clients, in 2010 the company expanded to include Easy Living Home Health Care Agency (ELHHCA). This allowed Barb to expand her services, which included nursing, social services, and speech therapy. Over the next several years, ELHHCA and Mueller Therapy grew to 80 employees and added a northern branch in Kiel (2012) and a western branch in Portage (2013).
To provide a complete continuum of care throughout southeastern Wisconsin, Serenity Hospice Care was developed and licensed since February 2012. Barb and Vicki Depies are co-owners. This division was CHAPS certified on September 27, 2012.
Preceptor Health Care was created in 2013 to encompass all three companies under one name. Today the team consists of 150 staff members who specialize in providing care in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, and private residences. Our goal is to provide innovative, professional, and compassionate care to the communities we serve.
We provide a continuum of care that makes all the difference. With home health care, our goal is always to prevent hospitalizations and improve overall quality of life. Our collaborative team works with you to create a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs.
Our hospice care goal is to empower patients and families through each stage of their journey. Hospice is a specialized type of care for those facing a life limiting illness that gives them peace, comfort, and dignity. It also provides programs to families that support them after their loved one passes away. By providing a holistic approach that improves comfort care and quality of life, we work together with our patient, their family, caregivers, primary care doctor, and our team which includes a hospice medical director, nurses, social workers, home health aides, volunteers, dieticians, music therapists, massage therapists, speech therapists, and chaplains to nurture the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients.
Through our mission to provide compassionate care to all of the clients we serve, we are proud to belong to the following organizations:
- National Association for Home Care and Hospice
- National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization
- American Occupational Therapy Association
- Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Association
- American Physical Therapy Association
